Prof. Rani Sadasiva Murty's academic journey spans over four decades. He began his teaching career in 1983, serving numerous higher educational institutions in Vishakhapatnam and Tirupati for forty years before assuming the role of Vice Chancellor at Sri Venkateswara Vedic University.
He hailed from a Vedic Family and traditionally studied under his father for more than a Decade. He studied Krishna Yajurveda Taittariya Samhita in Upadesha Krama, Sayana Bhashya on Krishna Yajurveda Taittariya Samita, Taittariya Upanishad, Niruktam of Yaska, Approach to Rigveda Samhita, Samaveda Samhita and Atherva Veda Samhita, Aitareya Brahmana, Sathapatha Brahmana, Daivata Brahmana, Rg Bhashya Bhumika of Sayana, Pingala Naga's Chandas Sastra with Halyayudha's Commentary , Nidana Sutra of Patanjali, Upanidana Sutra of Gargya, Katyayana Sarvanukramani of Rig Veda, Vedartha Dipika of Shadguru Shishya, Rk-Pratisaskya of Saunaka, Shukla Yajurveda Sarvanukramani, Atharva Veda Brhat Sarvanukramani and Rigveda Anukramni of Venkata Madhava which paved a way for his Ph.D pursuit in the field of Vedas.
He got his Ph.D in 1985 for his exemplary work on Vedic Chandas with the titled "Vedic Prosody Origin and Development " from Andhra University , Visakhapatnam.
He is often invited by Many Higher Education Institutions In and abroad for his Expertise in the Vedic Studies ,Agamas and Tantras , Puranas, Ithihasas , Comparative Philosophy , Comparative Literature, Indian Knowledge Systems. and many other traditional subjects of modern relevance.
A recipient of the Sahitya Academy Award, Prof. Rani Sadasiva Murty is a renowned researcher, poet, speaker, author, and playwright with more than ten awards after his name. He has written 50 classical dance ballets in Sanskrit, Telugu, and English, authored over 50 books, 250 stotras, and 15 playlets, and edited more than ten scholarly compilations. Additionally, over 200 of his articles have been published. Under his guidance, 26 Ph.Ds and 25 M.Phils were awarded.
Projects completed under his coordinatorship include
• Electronic Text of Mahabharata with hyperlinks.
• Geetha Govinda audio project.
• Ten Devotional audio albums.
• He directed a Sanskrit feature film "Hidimba-Bhimasenam.
• Tirumala Tirupati Devesthanams published the Mahabharatha of Vedavyasa 18 volumes in Sanskrit consisting of 10,000 pages under his editorship.
• Tirumala Tirupati Devesthanams published the Mahabharatha of Vedavyasa 18 volumes in Telugu consisting of 10,000 pages under his editorship.
• An electronic lexicon of Telugu language developed from 18 popular Sanskrit and Telugu lexicons by the name " Vijaya Nighantu Chandrika" inaugurated by Sri M.Venkaiah Naidu garu , Former Vice President of India on 10th July,2024.
Prof.Rani Sadasiva Murty has also represented his scholarly work internationally, visiting St. Petersburg, Russia in 2004, Kathmandu, Nepal in 2008 and 2024 and California, USA in 2018 and 2019.
